About WRE

Cecil Duckworth was the founder of Worcester Bosch and executive chairman of Rugby Union team Worcester Warriors. He also founded the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust, a Worcestershire charity that helps to relieve poverty and promote environmental conservation.

Worcestershire Resource Exchange is a registered charity set up as part of the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust to provide inspirational and affordable resources, whilst reducing landfill.

We work with around 60 local companies diverting by-products of manufacturing and make them available to individuals, artists, community groups and educational settings at our scrapstore located in Worcester.

We also design and make products from reclaimed materials which are sold online and across the country at trades to promote reuse at a national level.

Our main objectives are to:-

Kimonos made from reclaimed fabrics

Our materials change constantly but we often have paper, felt, cardboard, shiny film, sticky backed foam, plastics, fabric, tubing and much, much more!

You never know what new things we might have from week to week, and this makes the scrapstore worth visiting regularly or keeping up-to-date by email or in our blog section.

Alongside these resources we also sell other reclaimed materials. There is a selection of household paint in our Community RePaint area, and our wood store regularly contains plywood, MDF, chipboard, skirting and other lengths of timber.

Anyone wanting materials for creative activities whether it is art & craft, play, therapy or DIY.

We are used by childminders, scouts/brownies/guides, respite carers, home educators, schools, residential care homes, allotment societies, church groups, artists, families, model builders, re-enactors, care farms, youth groups, theatres, festivals, homeless charities, DIY enthusiasts…

The list is endless!

Community RePaint schemes collect reusable, leftover paint and re-distribute it to individuals, families, communities and charities in need, improving the wellbeing of people and the appearance of places across the UK.

At Worcestershire Resource Exchange we have been members of the network since 2005. We are open to the general public, community groups and charities. We sell our paint for ¬£2 per litre. If you need paint you can visit the store or contact us if you have any questions.

We will also collect paint from traders, retailers and manufacturers. This prevents leftover paint from going to waste and offers a considerable cost saving. If you have trade paint, please contact us to discuss our service and fees.
