Silly Sock Monkey!

Once again, he’s failed to fix the chicken run and his Easter chicks have gone AWOL all over the scrapstore. Please come on over and help him find them. He’s feeling pretty guilty so is prepared to part with chocolate eggs for any information leading to their return. We’re only open on Thursday this week, so come on over and cheer up the cheeky chimp for us.

Not that we’re short of other distractions to keep us happy over here… Check out this absolutely lovely 60s 70s doll’s house, pictured here. Reckon we were lucky to get our mittens on this beauty. It’s in really good condition for it’s age and still has loads of furniture and nik naks so your dollies feel at home. We’ve checked comparisons on line, and it’s a steal for the lot at £25.

Though, worry not, you lovely lot, if this just doesn’t float your boat. We’ve plenty more good things to get on with this week and are managing to keep our old favourites topped up to tippling too.

La Liste:-

Mirrors. Still a good selection of full length mirrors in stock and fresh off the van , this morning, a new consignment of smaller ones (13 x 22cm).

Plastic pipe off cuts in lots of bright colours. Brilliant for play and arty projects, this lot won’t hang around for too long.

CDs galore including some pretty cool ones with a titanium effect finish. Groovey!

A cute, small child’s chair plus a stool and some handy wooden folding chairs.

Plastic bottles galore including 5, 10 and 25 litre ones

More Tiger Turf including some pretty large bits as well as the usual offcuts

Suitcases and briefcases galore

Cargo netting consignment topped up to the max with a good mix of gauges, colours and textures

Picture frames a plenty

Make the most of this Thursday then and after that, we’ll resume business as usual on Thursday, next week.

Don’t forget those cheeky little chicks need finding!

See you soon!

Hello You Lovely Lot!

Just taking a break from our new found childcare responsabilities, to let you know… we could do with a baby sitter… or three! Never mind the eagle landing, the stork has well and truely offloaded on us, this week, and we are proud to announce the arrival of a trolley full of baby dolls! They’re in all shapes and sizes and in need of a home a little bit cosier than this place. As you can see from the picci here, some are more realistic than others

Good variety of gatherings so far, this week. Plus heaps of goodies grabbed by Paddy on last Friday’s swap up in Stoke, where he met up with four other scrapstores and bagsied some beauties to enhance your mooching experience if you’re popping by this week.

We have been asked by Vision Labs, who have kindly been donating lenses to us for over 5 years, for photos and stories explaining where and how the lenses end up. Please could any of you that this means something to, help us out with this one? We only ever get the chance to stick them out on the shop floor for you and would love to see for ourselves too. So it’s your call really. Any emails or piccies that you send will be passed on by us to the Vision Labs team, who we are sure will be very pleased to get them. Some businesses are just happy to see the back of their waste, others are left wondering what on earth we could possibly want them for. Help us solve that mystery. Thank you!

Goodies Gathered:-

Wallpaper sample books. These make ultra cool portfolios.

Pretty boxes with clear lid so you can see what’s in them.

Tiger Turf in all sorts of styles and sizes. Big bits, small bits, blue bits too! Bear with us, because we haven’t had a chance to measure up any bigger bits yet, but hope to do so by opening time Thursday.

Paper and card, in decent sized off cuts, available for your trolley shop. Includes good variety of colours in the card department. Woo hoo!

Sparkly card, like mega sparkly, holographic, get your sunnies on, it’s so bright, card

‘Silk’ roses in bunches, with ‘I Love You’ embossed on the petals. Romance is alive and kicking in Scrapville

Weed suppressant fabric

Plenty of white plastic bottles, without tops

Roughly 20cm lengths of plastic tube offcuts in green and white. Similar consistency to the tubes handcream would go in, but with no top or bottom. Easy to cut with scissors and already flying out the door to top up junk modelling supplies and for planting sweetpeas

Vinyl for making banners for all those events you’ve got coming up

Old rope – up to 3m lengths, roughly one inch gauge. not pristine but great for pirate ships!

Organ stops

Lengths of turned wood, threaded with nuts (Organ components)

So well worth a jolly and a mooch this week, we reckon. Looking forward to it already!

Mrs G and the Pixies of Scrap

EASTER OPENING INFO

We are only closing on Good Friday (April 6th) and Saturday (April 7th)

We are open on all our usual days and times over the rest of the Easter break.

It would be great to see you.

And Relax!

Blimey that was one marvellously mega multi swap. Never fails to cheer things right up, does our ole faithful annual swap in Exeter. A brilliant turn out this year, with 25 Scrapstores in attendance, all with vans full of goodies to exchange. The photo shown here covers only about a third of what was on offer, so we really did have an amazing variety of stuff to do battle for. We have perfected our comedy ‘No running’ walk to its most hilarious and really hope you find something you like amongst the scrumpings.

La Liste!

Small white plastic bottles

Classy 2012 diaries

Webbing on the roll in number of gauges

Tough, bright and cheery green fabric

Pink door knobs that’d make great pig snouts

Wooden discs 20cm in diameter

Massive cardboard circles

buckets with lids

Petri dishes

Make up pads for nose powdering

Fabric sample books

Snuggly super soft foam with silver backing

Yarn

Bouncy castle offcuts

Plenty more stuff to unearth, so best get on, if you lovely lot want to get your mitts on it.

Well good to see we’re still taking our scrap collections very seriously! Hoping the Oompa Loompa disguise, pictured here, may get us entry into local chocolate factories with a view to collecting mishapes… yum yum!

Meanwhile, our fab new scrump this week lends itself very well to Oompa Loompa and Incredible Hulk hair but would also be brilliant for anything in need of a bit of moss substitution. Could be used in model building or even for lining hanging baskets. It won’t compost down like regular moss as it’s synthetic, but at least this means it should last a whole lot longer.

Tiger Turf (artificial grass) Loads more off cuts plus one big piece (short cut 4 x 4.4m)

Weed suppressant material

2 Oak Doors with frames. NB These are office style doors as opposed to domestic ones, each with two apertures for windows down the side of them. We’d forgive anyone who bought them just for the wood. They are solid!

A good top up of backing paper, including Easter yellow

More cross shaped canvases unearthed from last week’s haul

Loads of acrylic paints. All 100ml tubes, ten colours to choose from. At 50p each or 3 for £1, these make for a great bargain opportunity to top up your palettes.

Small selection of Royalty related colour supplements, dating back to the Queen’s coronation, Churchill’s funeral and the Charles ‘n’ Di wedding extravaganza.

Good times to be had at WRE yet again! Come on over and share in them soon!

Greetings from Scrapville

Where scrappiness equals happiness! Good times still happening here at HQ Scrap with plenty of incoming goodies and even a jolly out in the sticks for the fabulously quirky canvases, pictured in this weeks blog. We even have a few in the shape of a cross. Reckon these have great potential to create something really unusual. They come in slim and deep edge and are good quality stock.

Tiger Turf offcuts – no huge pieces, but plenty of decent sized (over 1m) bits for smaller projects

Canvases some with, rest without square inserts, in squares and rectangles (NB rectangles have two ‘holes’ in middle)

Smaller canvases – 8×10″ deep edged ones

Three Cheers for return of the pint and half pint glasses

2 x Art projectors. Made by Artograph Model Design Master 2. These have had minor repairwork and are PAT tested earlier this year. RRP Over £250, WRE £32.50 – £35

Chunky wooden cable reels

Suitcases including some rather retro ones

Dollies for your trollies. Loads of ‘collectable’ dolls in boxes including traditionally dressed ones. Anyone in need of a lift? One V8 Action Man car up for grabs too!

Vinyl records galore. Those hills will be alive with music!

Finally my fave this week… two authentique, distressed, branded (well known Brit brand by appointment to the Queen), wooen boxes containing a half dozen soda syphons each. They’re pre 1971 because the box deposit is pre decimal.

The shelves are looking positively chokka. We’re sure we can count on you to help make space for next week’s goodies though.

See you soon!
