Knitty Knora!

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Have just received a very generous and quality donation of wools and fabrics. At least a few trolleys full of each in a huge range of colours and textures.

Wools include Mohair, Jaegar, Peruvian spun and Thermaknit. With the odd exception, there are at least 10balls of most colours.

Fabrics are all for tailoring as opposed to upholstering and include florals, checks, tartans, stripey, plain, tweeds and lots of lovely retro stuff. All remenants but most pieces have enough to make at least a shirt, skirt or pair of trousers.

Also received a big sack full of good quality aprons and pinnies. They’re going for a £1.50 each and they’re going quickly!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

Luverly luverly bikey!

Yes indeed, we’re enjoying some yummy chocolate cake to celebrate 11years of the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust.

That aside, there is equal excitement about the haul of bikes we got in this morning. A lovely ‘ladies’ sit up and beg purple princessy one, a 23″ frame mans mtn bike (if you know anyone tall), and an old skool GT Telera as well as a couple of other goodies.

No paint top ups this week guys… we’re reliant on the people donating it to… donate it, so we’re doing what we can, but bear with us and possibly phone and check rather than making a special journey if it’s only paint you’re after.

foam-0021

Back from Aylesbury after megafab swap with a very lovely scrapstore. Some prime time goodies for you all out there, some limited, some in big quantities. Here goes…

Fab fun foam – big sheets, little sheets, thin ones, chunky ones, red, yellow, green, blue, black n white ones. it’s closed cell foam (bit like camping mat stuff), can be cut easily and has a miriad of uses!

Massive purple pens

Big sheets of white paper

Dance mats – battery operated, plug into your telly, dance a lot and tone that belly!

White plastic bottles… well when I say bottles, they are sort of, but they have an opening each end (see pic). Brill for makin music and lots of other things for sure.

Nice jugs… sort of jug like cause they have a handle and can hold liquid, but you could add a skin and make a drum type thing and if your mind works like Anda’s you could make an Easter Island face sculpture out of them. Intrigued? Come on down and see for yourselves!

We also have 1000 baby bibs, clean and packaged. If anyone has an idea of a local charity that could make use of some of these, please put them in touch with us.

Most of the stuff is out on the shelves, barrels etc etc so come on down, the price is definately right!

Afternoon All!

Had a fabulous haul today from new company.

Lots and lots of big sheets of 4mm expanded polystyrene. This may immediately excite some of you… It didn’t me, until Beth demonstrated just how BRILLIANT it is for press printing and model making too.

Prices start at 20p sheet and costs less if you but more! We can show you a popular catalogue where they charge nearly a tenner for 10 tiny sheets if you don’t believe we’re offering you a mega bargain. We can also tell you how to print with it.

Loads of lovely new fabric sample books to tease you textile lot with and big swaperama drama in Aylesbury next week too, so more new stuff to follow soon.

Bon Weekend!
