Hello Fellow Scrapsters!

No trouble keeping warm here, with all the scrumping we’ve been up to this week. We’ve had Cornwall scrapstore combine a trip up to us with a swap and also grabbed some goodies from oop north. Of course we’re keeping up with plenty of local gatherings, but the swaps give you the variety you’re after. Alien spiders from Planet Plastic as well as Octoplastic tentacles. See! You wouldn’t find things like that ’round these parts, would you? Well you will now!

And so to… The List:

Couple of male mannequins left, one sat, one stood

Easel – One full size, free standing, that folds away into a wooden box

Lighting gel on the roll

A4 spiral bound sketch books

Alien spiders from Planet Plastic

Good selection of artist’s ‘stuff’ (we’ll know more as we unpack)

Clear plastic tentaclistic strips (good for making Octopusses)

Mixing knives for all sorts of paints

Sticky back neoprene pads

Big bits of Tiger Turf

Cheese boards for role play. Include soft play cheese, grapes and knife.

Right! If I keep on waffling it won’t make it out of the van.

See you all soon (though not all at once please!)

Hello Scrap Fans!

We’re warming up for the much talked about Olympics and our very own entry for the British Scrap Event of 2012, with our freshly delivered cardboard hoops. As you can see, in the picci, our scrap hopeful, Beth, is hoping to make up for the rhythmic gymnastics disappointment, with her very own hoop balancing act! These new arrivals are super smooth, very robust and perfect for so many projects. They’ll paint up perfectly for olympic rings, as well as having great potential for framing more rotund works of art. Many thanks to Birmingham PlayCare Network for sharing these with us.

Has been a busy one, with, perhaps a bit less variety than usual this week, but all the same, some real quality scrumps that’ll have you knocking on the doors if they’re not open at Noon sharp this Thusday!

Short but Sweet!

Paint! Hurrah! A special delivery of good quality stuff in plenty of types and colours, including lots of off whites and creams, emulsions, glosses and eggshells. We still need to limit the amount you can buy each week to ten litres, so everyone has a good chance of benefitting from this generous donation. Unfortunately that’s all we have time to tell you so sorry that we do not have time to run around personal shopping for you (even if it does keep us warm) so no reserves on paint.

More mannequins! Get us! This week, we have mostly lured in the females. The range includes glossy black ones sitting, glossy white ones ‘strutting’, caucasian skin tone ones strutting whilst wearing make-up and having real, fake eyelashes. We also have a number of ‘busts’ with arms and stands, as well as a couple of pairs of legs.

What a wonder week it’s been so far. All we need now is you lovely lot and it’ll be erring on perfect!

Plenty to do, so must get on!

See you v soon

Oh Boy!

Didn’t we do well this week folks! We may have travelled a bit further afield, but we’d like to think it was worth it. We are now the proud owners of two male netball team’s worth of mannequins. The ones sitting down may look a little less up for it than the upright and ready to rock lot. Having said that, they may just be saving themselves. The photos show the types we have in stock. The only variation being that some of the sitting ones are bald! So without further ado…

The List!

Quilted fabric on the roll (rusty colour one side, off white the other)

Upholstery fabric in lots of bright colours

Pink Power Ranger fancy dress for one petite person

Other dressing up bits n bobs

Easels – table top ones that fold into a box and free standing ones with telescopic legs, that fold into a box too.

Gauze cloths

Wooden building blocks

Artists canvas on the roll

Black gesso

Fabric sample books

Picture frames

Mounting board off cuts (mainly squares and rectangles with hole in middle as opposed to solid sheets)

Vinyl leatherette in good range of colours including metallics

More cargo net than ever before

One clear plastic cube, one more fishtank shaped (with a gold mirror on backwall)

Plenty more pick ups this week to do. So if it’s not on the list, it’s not a case of … it can’t come in… it may just not be in yet!

Finally, check us out! We’re now in the world of Facebook (at last!). If you peak elsewhere on this page, you should see the fb logo and you may choose to ‘Like us’. We’ll try not to take it personally if you don’t. We have realised, though, for some people, this is a preferred way of communicating.

That’s all for the time being.

See you soon!

How quickly did this year just go by? No time to dilly dally on the train to Scrapville ’cause time just flies when you’re having fun.

Festive Greetings from Sparkleville

Ooh, how that glitter gets everywhere! It would seem that keeping warm is no problemo for us lot when we’ve gathered all these goodies that need shifting onto shelves so you can get your mitts on them.

Seems like businesses are keeping with the season of goodwill theme and we’ve done ever so well yet again on getting the goodstuff in here for you to have a good mooch about and keep those christmas stockings well stocked.

Before we get to the list, we’d like to draw your attention to the jolly dollies we have gotten here and see how much interest we get in them. They’re known as boudoir dolls, 1930s made, for Galeries Lafayette, London and in the excellent condition they’re in, are v collectable. Not our usual kind of wear but as they are particularly high value, we’d like to take offers on them, rather than just stick them out at a high price. In recent weeks, comparable ones have been ebaying at around £60 each. We’re not expecting anyone to offer or pay that much but we’d be keen to let them go to someone making a decent offer. Anyone?

This week we have mostly been gathering…

Beautiful wooden boxes with flip lid AND a drawer

Watercolour sets in v attractive wooden boxes

Oil paint sets in equally desirable boxes made of wood

Water colour pads and pastel pads

Floristry cellophane

Handmade dining chair covers in heavy weight terracotta fabric

Craft packs galore

Card toppers for card makers

Go kart wheels (2 sets of 3 for you triminded whizz kids)

One flipchart stand

A piano stool for two for those christmas duets

Still plenty of good stuff for pressies and wrappings an lashings of good cheer too. Apologies for mis-timing the email last week. Does that mean I can’t ask if anyone’s got a 2012 year planner going spare, since I could obviously do with one, to keep me organised for next year’s collections?!

Hope to see you soon!

Cathy, our Creative Projects, along with our fantastic team of Wremaker volunteers have been working harder than Santa’s elves over the last couple of months in preparation for this special release – from Thursday 17th November WRE will be selling a new selection of craft packs.

Newly designed Wremade products include ‘Make your own’ Reindeer, Brooches and Pin Cushions in boxed packs, ranging from £5 to £8. The perfect gift for those who appreciate ethical gifts as the packs contain resources rescued from landfill – even the boxes are made from offcuts from a box factory. All the packs contain full instructions and are made here at WRE by our Wremade volunteers. We hope that you like them and that you enjoy getting crafty.

Greetings of a Rather Seasonal Nature!

Yep, it’s here at last (for those of you eager to get on with all things Christmassy), we can avoid it no longer (for those of you not in the zone yet). Oh what fine festive scrumpings we have gathered and stashed for you over the last year. We’ve got a huge variety of gatherings this year and really hope you’ll find inspiration for some fab festive projects as well as saving yourselves some precious pennies ‘n’ pounds.

Last week, some of the gang attended the Scrapstores Uk Make Time To Play Conference and at the end of the day there was a mega multi swap between loads of scrapstores from far and wide. We did pretty well at grabbing the good stuff whilst doing the comedy ‘I’m not running’ walk to speedily stash the best stuff in our van, before anyone else got their mitts on it.

The List is… Long!

Quality lino and rollers – for printing, not flooring

Watercolour sets

Sketch books

Resin blocks (good for building blocks)

Reels galore

More sugar paper in A4,3 and 2

Hologram card (big sheets)

Jewellery boxes

Organ pipes (We kid you not!)

Continuous computer printing paper

Poster paints

Silk (or fake silk) flowers

Rope

Sheepskin

Mini jam jars with lids

Teeney weeney milk bottles

A crib waiting for peg dolly sized characters

Christmas cards

Tinsel

Baubles bigger than grapefruits (and not that we’d recommend eating them, but they probably taste nicer too…not that I’m bitter… ho ho)

Wreaths, garlands and tree branches

Gift boxes (including some v dinky gingerbread house ones that are intended for colouring in, if you’re after keeping anyone out of mischief)

Red and gold netting ribbon

White felt

STOP PRESS!!
We’ve just unearthed this decorative sleigh. It’s gorgeous, needs the tiniest bit of fixing up and is perfect for a crimbo display, though not sturdy enough to clamber on. NB Sleigh driver not included! Bargain at £12.50

Enough excitement for you? There’s plenty more here, so come on over and share in the scrap joy!

Hope you’ve had yourselves a good week and are braced, ready ‘n’ waiting ‘n’ raring to come have a ganders at this week’s list of scrumpings. Yet another eclectic mix for you to have a good ole mooch about. Plus a mega multi swap, late this Friday, should hopefully mean even more goodies on their way for next week too. Meanwhile, we’re having fun sorting through all the dollies we’ve aquired this week. There are a few kiddies’ action figures but the majority of them are porcelain ‘collectibles’ (though not neccesarily Antique’s Roadshow collectibles) or traditional costume dolls which could serve as great teaching aids, though aren’t suitable for playing with.

This Week’s Montage:

Dozens of dollies

Vinyl records galore. These could make for the world’s worst disco having had a quick flick through them. There are, however, some really quirky covers and loads of laughs to be had amongst them.

Blue water pipe. If you can’t hula, this stuff is the way forward. Having failed to hula for forty years, have now found the way… the bigger the hula, the easier it is, and this stuff is just the job.

Lego head hair. How else could we describe the above photo? (Answers on a postcard…)

Plastic pots with lids. Used but clean, though still smell of Lush, which is where we scrumped them)

Woolen felt offcuts in loadsa lovely colours

Leatherette in wide colour range

Plenty of bright coloured, plain upholstery fabrics

Green plastic discs with hole in the middle (15cm diam)

Big rolls of corrugated paper (45″ wide and 25′ long). We have 3 designs:- White with party streamers plus plain green and orange

A veritable rainbow’s worth of sugar paper in 50p bargain packs

Freshly coppiced hazel sticks and poles
