Spring into Action and Introduce a Friend!

March 4th, 2010

It must be that Spring air that’s got to us, cause we’re feeling more generous than we already are! It’s about time we started showing our appreciation to those of you who make the effort to ‘big us up’ out there and encourage new people to join the Scrapstore.

So let us introduce the Introduce a Friend scheme!

  • Members who introduce, persuade or bribe a friend into becoming a member of WRE will be rewarded with a 50% discount on their trolley of scrap. This discount will only apply on the day you bring in and join up your friend. That way we make sure you do actually introduce us, we’re such a shy retiring bunch after all! However,  we can only cope with you introducing us to one new member per day.
  • You need to have up to date membership to enjoy this reward and the new member does need to be new to us, as opposed to having an expired membership.
  • This reward programme will initially run until the end of April and if proves successful may continue to run from there.

So get those recruiting boots on and find us a friend.  We like  meeting new people!

Mannequin Competition!

March 4th, 2010

WREveal All

WREveal All 003

Members Only Exclusive!

At last at last we can present you all with this fabulous opportunity to make a decent man of our one and only mannequin. The demand for mannequins has been so high and having only managed to scrump the one, we feel the fairest thing to do is compete for him! This gives everyone a chance to get their hands on him.

The competition is open to members only at the cost of £1 per entry. All you need to do is present us with your idea for how you will make use of him. A rough sketch and paragraph outlining your project idea is all we ask.

Entries need to be handed in at WRE with your entry fee, name, membership number and contact information by 1st April 2010.  There is no limit to the number of entries you can make.

Entries will be judged on originality, inventiveness and creativity (so panic not if you’re not much of a drawer, it’s the idea that matters). The winner will be announced on April 14th.

We look forward to seeing your ideas. Keep em coming and… Good Luck!

Hot off the back of our van, these fabulous fans are now up for grabs! The biggest ones are 1.45m diameter, and whilst you could fold them away… it would be a whole lot lot easier, not to. trust me on this one before you make your vehicle choice!

They start at £3 and max out at £5.

Let your dramarama departments know, they’d be fan tastic for a big stage set!

Glorious Gloucester scrapstore, escaped the snow yesterday and visited us with a van full of goodies for swapping. Our chaps have also been out and about blaggin it and baggin it and bringin it back for you. So have a good squiz of the list, there are some real corkers this week.

These are a few of my favourite things…

  • Snooker loopy nut are we! We have snooker table baize on the roll and it’s only £1 metre. There is more than enough to do a few tables.
  • Sporty week we’s havin! We also have tennis ball fabric on the roll. Yep we do! It’s the fluro lemmony green stuff and very tough!
  • Nylon/plastic tubing – About 10mm bore, various lengths.
  • Corex type stuff. It’s black, plasticky and very much like corex and comes in pieces roughly 40cm x 90cm. Will stick a picci on our blog when I get the chance.
  • Gorgeous upholstery fabrics are us this week! On the roll, cheap as chips and classy as!
  • Paint by numbers may not be your bag but the canvasses may be. We have sooo many PBN kits now that we’re putting them out as part of your trolley. The canvasses can be painted over so easily. Need I say more?
  • I will say more! Acryllic paints are all now in the main scrapstore! We need the space, so want to get them shifting. I could’ve said it’s cause we’re such a generous lot couldn’t I?
  • Geotextile in big sheets aka weed suppressant!
  • Bright coloured paper – smells lush! Cause it’s from Lush!
  • Loads of bikes.
  • Icecream tubs with lids.

Looking forward to your next visit already!

Dins rides the donkey easel

The other easel we have is a quality double sided ‘Devon’ one  that just needs someone a bit handy to make feet for it (there’s a pic on the box and it looks fairly simple, we just don’t have the time). It would normally retail at £165 -£239 and we’ll let it go for £25. Quality product for the right person! Pic of Beth at work on it so you can get an idea.
